Specialist Profiles

The leadership team

Shaoliang Wang, MD

Shaoliang Wang, MD (王韶亮)

Director, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Reconstructive & aesthetic plastic surgery · complex repair · tertiary-hospital surgical leadership

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, and brings more than two decades of tertiary-hospital surgical experience to his leadership of the Center.

Within the Center his role is institutional: setting the surgical and clinical standards across all six service lines, chairing multidisciplinary discussion of complex cases, and ensuring that reconstructive and aesthetic care share the same safety discipline. His clinical practice spans skin tumor excision with margin control and cosmetic closure, scar revision and comprehensive scar care, complex wound repair, and revision of failed cosmetic operations.

Clinical focus

  • Reconstructive plastic surgery: skin tumor excision, complex wound repair, scar revision
  • Aesthetic plastic surgery: facial rejuvenation, breast and body contouring, revision surgery
  • Surgical management of congenital and acquired deformities
  • Multidisciplinary case leadership across the Center’s six service lines
  • Tertiary-hospital surgical governance and quality control

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Craniofacial Surgery Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics & Beauty Committee
  • Standing Committee Member, Chongqing Medical Doctor Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Expert Panel, Chongqing Aesthetic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Developed a new endoscope- and water-jet-assisted technique for removing injected polyacrylamide (Aomingding) breast filler; awarded the Wang Liangneng Cup Military Excellent Scientific Paper Award
  • Principal investigator on an international cooperation sub-project, a Chongqing Natural Science Foundation grant, and a Third Military Medical University technology-transfer project; published 4 SCI papers and holds 8 national invention patents

A hospital-based advantage

When aesthetic or reconstructive work from anywhere needs theatre-level correction, or a complication needs intensive care, the operating rooms, anesthesia, and ICU are already in the same building. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means that backstop is real, not theoretical.

Tongchun Mao, MD

Tongchun Mao, MD (毛彤春)

Deputy Director & Head of Aesthetic Surgery · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Aesthetic surgery · refinement · natural results

Dr. Tongchun Mao is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its aesthetic surgery service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, he has rooted his clinical practice for more than 20 years and personally performs over 700 operations a year.

Within the Center his role is surgical judgement: knowing when a minimally invasive plan will not achieve what surgery can, performing detailed feature refinement, and keeping results natural. His aesthetic practice covers detailed facial-feature surgery, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring.

Clinical focus

  • Detailed facial-feature refinement and repair (eyelid, nose, chin, lip)
  • Aesthetic closure principles applied to dermatologic excisions
  • Facial rejuvenation surgery and aesthetic excision of superficial tumours
  • FUE hair transplantation and body contouring

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Rhinoplasty and Trunk Tumor Groups, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics Quality Control Center; Member, Chongqing Medical Accident / Disability Assessment Expert Pools
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Shapingba District Medical Aesthetics Committee
  • Published 5 SCI papers, holds 7 national patents, and has participated in 4 research projects
  • Repeatedly named an "Outstanding Young Physician" at Xinqiao Hospital since joining in 2005

The closure is the result

Once a lesion is gone, what remains is a line. Fine closure technique, respect for aesthetic units, and scar-conscious aftercare decide whether that line fades into the skin or announces itself.

Ke He, MD

Ke He, MD (何锞)

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Skin & laser aesthetics · anti-ageing plans · skin health

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and aesthetic medicine for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Within the Center her role is skin and laser aesthetics: coordinating the energy-based skin care that complements the surgical and dermatology services, and matching each treatment to the patient’s skin and anatomy rather than to a template.

Clinical focus

  • Early scar prevention and repair: silicone, pressure, and laser protocols
  • Pigment conditions: freckles, melasma, age spots, nevus of Ota, and post-inflammatory pigment
  • Acne and acne scarring; refined treatment of eyelid-margin moles, milia, and syringoma
  • Full-cycle anti-ageing skin management: barrier repair and laser rejuvenation
  • Vascular conditions and full-cycle hair management

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

Under-treat, then refine

An aesthetic specialist can always add a little more at the review visit; removing too much is the hard part. Starting conservatively and refining at two to four weeks is the discipline behind natural results.

Yongbo Jia, MD

Yongbo Jia, MD (贾勇波)

Deputy Director & Head of Dermatology · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

A vice chief physician and licensed aesthetic attending, he graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and trained in dermatology at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and at Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Within the Center his role is the medical foundation: assessing skin health before aesthetic treatment, managing pigment and barrier issues that complicate plans, and caring for skin after complications. Good aesthetic results are built on healthy skin.

Clinical focus

  • Comprehensive pigment management: melasma, freckles, sun spots, café-au-lait, and age spots
  • Laser skin care, mesotherapy, and chemical peels
  • Hair and scalp conditions, including hair loss and hair transplantation
  • Aesthetic excision of superficial moles, cysts, and haemangiomas; refined cosmetic stitching

Diagnosis first

Most treatment failures in dermatology trace back to a missed diagnosis or an abandoned routine. Getting the diagnosis right, then staying with the maintenance plan, is what quietly produces results.
